Spots on Smith: Chef Troy's Talk of the Town

Chef Troy's Talk of the Town has been on our "To Do List" for quite a while. Lake weekends are often filled with pre-planned menus, guests from out of town and sun-kissed boat rides, so making the short drive to this Smith Lake legend has unfortunately been on the back burner.  For six years we've heard from neighbors both at home and at the lake, "it is so good...make the drive".

Late in 2017, I stopped by Chef Troy's Talk of Town to drop something off. The smell was so amazing I took a menu. Fast forward two months and we made the trip for breakfast/brunch on a rainy Friday morning. Their food was just as good as the smell and their service was even better! Chef Troy's daughter waited on us and gave excellent menu suggestions. We hit a home run with the Cajun Lumberjack Potatoes and Gambino French Toast. Their breakfast menu is available all day -- so need to arrive by a certain time to experience it. The other cool thing we discovered was that they cater ~ so for our next lakeside party we may just have to let Chef Troy do the cooking!

Our other special treat was visiting the fire station next door. The guys inside couldn't have been kinder to my little people who were very excited to see a "real fire truck". Visiting Houston, Alabama needs to be on your Smith Lake Summer Bucket List

Thanks for great food and service! We will definitely be back and will be bringing others with us!

Thanks for loving Smith Lake!
